The Brandenburg Gate is the only remaining town gate in Berlin and is one of the most famous buildings and landmarks of the city. It used to be one of the most prominent symbols for the separation of the city. At this site thousands of people climbed the Wall on 9 November 1989 followed by the opening of the border crossings to West Berlin on that same night.
We recommend a visit to the memorial „Berliner Mauer“ on Bernauer Straße in Berlin Mitte to experience the long lasting separation of Berlin on an authentic spot accompanied by qualified historic information. Here you can also see the remains of the original border crossing.
The Berlin Wall Myth is based on its reputation as an artistic projection screen. The East-Side-Gallery, close to Ostbahnhof, displays paintings and graffiti, which were drawn in the beginning of the 1990s.

It consists of 2.711 concrete pillars arranged in a grid.
The Fernsehturm at Alexanderplatz has been the highest building in town since the 1970s - and is a true highlight. The total height is 368 m. The observation platform with its revolving tele café is located at 203m elevation. A must for every Berlin visitor.
