Sightseeing

The Brandenburger Tor is the only remaining town gate in Berlin and is one of the most famous buildings and landmarks of the city. It used to be one of the most prominent symbols for the separation of the city. At this site thousands of people climbed the Wall on 9 November 1989 followed by the opening of the border crossings to West Berlin on that same night.

Memorial „Berliner Mauer“

we recommend a visit to the memorial „Berliner Mauer“ on Bernauer Straße in Berlin Mitte to experience the long lasting separation of Berlin on an authentic spot accompanied by qualified historic information. Here you can also see the remains of the original border crossing.

East-Side-Gallery

The Berlin Wall Myth is based on its reputation as an artistic projection screen. The East-Side-Gallery, close to Ostbahnhof, displays paintings and graffiti, which were drawn in the beginning of the 1990s.

The Siegessäule with the golden Viktoria – also known as „Goldelse“ -  is one of the most impressive historic landmarks in town. On it observation platform you’ll have a breath taking panorama view over the whole city.

The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is the central spot for memory and reminiscence. This impressive and outstanding memorial has just been built a few years ago in direct proximity to the Brandenburger Tor and the Reichstag on an area of ca. 19.000 m². It consists of 2.711 concrete pillars arranged in a grid.

The Fernsehturm at Alexanderplatz has been the highest building in town since the 1970s - and is a true highlight. The total height is 368m. The observation platform with its revolving tele café is located at 203m elevation. A must for every Berlin visitor.

The unique Museumsinsel is the home to five of the most famous museums in Berlin: the Alte Museum, the Neue Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie, the Pergamon-Museum and the Bode-Museum. The harmoniously grown museum complex was demolished in World War II. The restoration process is still going on.

The Schloss Charlottenburg is the biggest castle in Berlin and a masterpiece of baroque architecture. Its idyllic park daily attracts thousands of Berlin inhabitants and guests for a delightful stroll through it.

The Gendarmenmarkt is an architectural experience and one of the most beautiful places in Europe. Deutscher Dom, Französischer Dom and Schauspielhaus form a unique ensemble.
