Healthy Restaurants Guide in Berlin

1. Café Vux

Close to Berlin-Neukölln S-Bahn station, you'll find one of the most popular vegan restaurants in Berlin. It's not full of bling, and as it's tucked away on a side street you could easily walk straight past it. Locals know better, as Café Vux serves among the tastiest vegan cakes in the city. It's very popular for Saturday brunch, though it's best to get there soon after it opens at 11 am to be sure of a table. Café Vux is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but that still leaves five days of glorious eating.

2. W-Der Imbiss

This restaurant's logo is a parody of a certain multinational fast food chain´s, underlining its alternative way of looking at food. Situated in Kastanienallee a couple of kilometres north of the city centre, it specialises in vegetarian and vegan cuisine, with a particular emphasis on Indian dishes. The naan pizza is always popular, as are the wok dishes, while for those looking for a filling snack there's a wide range of burritos and wraps. At busy times it can be crowded, so be prompt!

6. Umami

Vietnamese cooking is renowned for its healthiness, so this restaurant in the Kollwitzkiez district could prove ideal. You might not associate Vietnamese cuisine with burgers, but Umami's vegan version is rated highly – it won't break the bank, either. Customers also rate the restaurant highly for its authentic atmosphere, enhanced by the proprietor's attention to detail in everything from interior design to tea. 7. Cookies Cream

It may not sound like that of one of the best healthy restaurants in Berlin, but prepare to have your eyes opened. Conveniently located in the Unter den Linden area, this venue's friendly service and atmosphere are as big a part of your experience as the food. The restaurant is renowned for its desserts, but there's also an inventive selection of veggie starters and main courses. Parmesan dumplings served with artichokes may sound unexciting, but those who've tried this dish will rave about it.
