Hello, I’m Marcos, and I’ll be your host during your stay at Hotel Berlin, Berlin! I arrived in the city in 1986, when I was just twenty. It was only three years later that everything changed, but even now, the west and the east have totally different vibes. It’s one of the things I love about Berlin.

Then again, there are countless reasons I’ve made this city my home. For one, it’s so international, and different cultures, religions and mindsets are easily accepted here. I love the greenery and abundance of natural water. I also have to give a shout out to Hertha and FC Union, Berlin’s two main football clubs! And finally, I love the feeling that that we’re all in the same boat here, though everyone is different. We have a saying in Berlin, and it goes like this: ‘I do my thing, you do yours, and we’re all Berliners!’

So, here’s my schedule for a day out in Berlin. After a leisurely boat trip around the Treptower docks, cycle through the Plänterwald or jog around the Rummelsburger Bucht, a bay of the river Spree. Cool down at the Soviet Memorial in Treptower Park. Next, cruise over the Oberbaumbrücke on the U1 line (towards Warschauer Straße). Look out for the impressive sculpture in the river! At the end of the line, head to Revaler Straße to rummage in the countless antique stores. Then, wander the Landwehrkanal, enjoying lattes and finger food from all corners of the globe. From here, it’s not much further to trendy rooftop bar Klunkerkranich. Enjoy your last beer while gazing over the rooftops of Neukölln.

I hope you have an amazing stay!
